TOUR OF EAST FLANDERS 1.1ICL
A 5 day stage race in Belgium with Hubo Scott Cycling Team
Stage 1 ITT was my highlight result, 5th. A fast and technical course with some out and back straight lines with mainly 180* and 90* corners. Happy with my effort to come 5th but hopefully a few less corners than 8 at the next one haha.
The rest of the races stages were not really ones that suited me, mainly bunch finishes of 170 riders. Punchy stages that somehow stayed together every day with bonus second and green jersey sprints in the first half of each stages every lap.
I came home with 10th on gc, a nice result.
A nice result for the team was a stage win on stage 3. A really fun week with Hubo Scott Cycling Team.

STADE HALLE UCI 1.2
Just today I raced Grote Prijs stade Halle UCI 1.2 with Carbonbike Giordana by Gen Z. A fast circuit with a 10% wall straight into a smaller kicker. I knew it was going to be a really challenging race but still set my expectations high as I always doβ¦
Anyway i started the race and filtered my way through the race to the pointy end and tried to stay in the wheels, there was a dodgy 25m cobbled section on a slight bend every lap which honestly just needs tarmac. First lap we hit it and it was still wet under the tree, different to the tarmac which was dry. Both water bottles for some reason jumped out my cages and I was without water, this is unfortunate where my race slowly went downhill, I should've not panicked and called the car for more bottles, instead I missed the feed zone 35 mins later and then waited again for the next lap. Got one bottle. Then wondered why I was starting to not feel so good, in the early stages of these races you can dehydrate so quickly and I learnt that the hard way, I eventually went to the car and downed two bottles but next time up the climb my muscles started to cramp, I juts about got over the third time in the front group but the 4th time I as just pushing as much as I could without my muscles cramping , really frustrating when my body and shape feels really good at the moment.
Positives and negatives, it's always going to be that way but I'm always seeing improvement in my numbers (watts) as the season goes along so I'm always remaining positive at the end of the day.
