Day 1 - 1.12b  KORTEMARK 🇧🇪 Flat, Fast & Technical.  The race started fast and continued with constant attacks, nothing going too far though. Just over an hour in and a group of 4 went clear, I made my move and managed to bridge over to the break solo.  The 5 of us stayed away for the rest of the race, varying between 30 seconds and 1 minute each lap to the chasing group

Not knowing the other riders in the break made it hard to judge the finish, I should have been more confident with my finish, before I knew it the line was there, lessons learnt but still really pleased with 4th.

Day 2 1.12b OORDEGEM 🇧🇪 Not Technical, but this time with long fast straights and a cobbled berg each lap

Again there was attacks from the start & there was a team with 8 riders who had 2 in every attack which made it hard knowing what to follow and when to sit in, lots of riders trying each lap.

After about 30 / 40 mins we split the race into a leading group of 18

The race was roughly 22 laps,  with about 4 to go a group of 5 went clear, 2 riders went clear form the 5, 1 solo and we caught the other 2. Last lap with the 3 riders out of sight there wasn’t any podium positions left but still a good finishing lap, 13th from only 22 finishers.

Really enjoyed the two day trip and learnt a lot at both days , I’ve definitely made improvements and raced smarter than my trip last month and seeing a good improvement in my results is definitely encouraging.  Really wish I could have raced more of these this year. The 4 races I’ve done in Belgium were all quite different and learnt from them all.

Next up will be a 3 day stage race in France 🇫🇷. Can’t wait for this
